About us
DilsePukaar is a people-powered nonprofit dedicated to serving communities across India through education, healthcare, food security, and women-led opportunity. Founded with the vision of a more compassionate and self-reliant society, we work alongside local leaders to uplift underprivileged families with dignity and care.
Our key initiatives include child education, poverty relief, women empowerment, and healthcare outreach — from learning centres and scholarships to mobile health camps, food distribution, and skills training designed with communities, not for them.
At DilsePukaar, we believe that every life matters. Through the dedication of our volunteers, donors, and partners, we strive to bring hope, opportunity, and lasting change to those who need it most.

Our beginning
For the last three or four years, we had been volunteering with different NGOs. We worked on the ground, met people, visited communities, and slowly started noticing something that didn't feel right.
Many organisations spoke about helping the needy, but their priorities often seemed different. Some were more focused on raising money, some worked mainly around their own communities, and some seemed far more interested in showing the work than actually doing it.
We didn't judge everyone. We knew there were people doing genuine work too.
But then, one evening in Lucknow, we saw something we couldn't forget.
While volunteering, we noticed a little girl sitting in a small shop, studying between customers. She was only in the fourth class. Around her were cigarettes, tobacco and other things being sold in the shop.
We asked about her.
Her mother was no more, and her father was selling fruits nearby. She was studying there because life had given her responsibilities much bigger than her age.
We went to our seniors and asked if there was something we could do for her.
The answer was simple:
“Let her be. We can't help everyone.”
Maybe they were right.
No organisation can help everyone.
But somehow, we couldn't accept that answer.
That little girl didn't leave our minds.
She didn't need everyone.
She just needed someone to try.
And that evening, our question changed from,
“Why isn't someone helping her?”
to,
“Why don't we?”
We started discussing the idea of building something of our own.
Something that would work on the ground, not just on paper.
Something where helping people mattered more than collecting money.
We knew it wouldn't be easy.
We also knew that people had reasons not to trust NGOs anymore. Too many organisations had made promises they never kept.
So we decided we wouldn't ask people to trust us because of our words.
We would earn it through our work.
Our journey didn't begin with money, an office, or a big team.
It began with one little girl...
and one thought we couldn't let go of:
“If someone needs help, how can we simply walk away?”

A story from the field
Rourkela, Odisha
Aanya is a girl living in Rourkela, Odisha. She was only 9 years old when she stopped going to school.
Her father had died because of lung cancer, and her mother worked long hours washing dishes in nearby houses just to arrange one meal a day.
While other children carried school bags, Aanya carried buckets of water.
She loved studying, especially English, but poverty slowly turned her dreams into silence.
One evening, when our team met her, she quietly asked:
“Can I study again… or is school only for rich children?”
That question stayed with us.
Today, with the support of kind donors, Aanya has books, school uniforms, and hope again.
But there are thousands of children like her still waiting for someone to believe in them.
Your small contribution can help a child return to school, sleep without hunger, and dream again.
